The Elliot Lake area is a paradise for boaters of every type and size of vessel. The thousands of fresh water lakes and rivers lend themselves to virtually every boating experience imaginable from sail boat and yachts to motorboats, canoes and kayaks. There are a number of marinas, municipal and man-made launches in the area to provide you with easy access to the many waterways.
The larger waters of Lake Huron’s North Channel are just 30 kilometers south of the City of Elliot Lake and can accommodate both power and sailboats. The North Channel is heralded as one of the best freshwater cruising grounds in North America. a 112 by 16km corridor running from Sault Ste Marie to Killarney. It is bordered on the north by the Ontario mainland and to the south by Drummond, Cockburn and Manitoulin Islands. Several full service marinas can be found along the channel offering excellent amenities including shower facilities, gas and diesel fuel stations, charts, pump-out facilities and convenient winter storage.
